For sellers and businesses, we may collect additional business information. We also collect information automatically as you use the Platform, such as your listings, bids, transactions, and basic technical data needed to operate the service. We do not collect your National Identity Card number at registration.
We use your information to operate and improve BidCeylon, including: creating and managing your account; displaying your listings and bids; processing transactions and commissions; facilitating communication between buyers and sellers; preventing fraud and enforcing our Terms; and notifying you about activity relevant to your account.
Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. We do not store your full card or banking details on our servers. Those payment providers handle your payment information under their own privacy policies and security standards. We receive only the transaction information necessary to complete and record your purchase or sale.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information: with other users as necessary to complete transactions (for example, a seller and winning buyer may need to exchange delivery details); with payment and service providers who help us run the Platform; and where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of BidCeylon and its users. Certain profile information, such as your display name and listings, is visible to other users by the nature of the service.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including securing passwords and restricting access to personal data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account password confidential.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account, subject to any records we are required to keep.

BidCeylon uses cookies and similar technologies necessary for the Platform to function, such as keeping you securely logged in. These are essential to providing the service and do not track you across other websites for advertising purposes.
BidCeylon is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform. Your continued use of BidCeylon after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
